Bookbinding Applications

 

 

Bookbinding is an unique adhesive challenge, because most applications substrates are constantly changing.

Originally, simple water based adhesives were used, then a demand for more flexibility of the books

themselves caused bookbinders to move to hot melts adhesives.  Bookbinding equipment and increased

production have caused a need for a second family of hot melt adhesives to be developed.  The new family

of adhesives also meets the challenge of the new paper and inks used today.  As the coatings and inks

change so must the adhesives.  While hot melts are still the most popular bookbinding adhesive, we are

now starting to see demands for even more aggressive products such as PUR's. Your Palmetto Adhesives
